Terms of service
What you can expect from the product, what we expect from you, and the parts where a tool that writes and publishes on your behalf needs its limits written down.
1.The agreement
Using Aeoly means accepting these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you may bind it.
2.What the service does
Aeoly crawls a website you nominate, reports technical faults, researches keywords, drafts articles, publishes them to a system you connect, and tracks how they perform afterwards.
Features change. We add things, and occasionally remove things that are not working. If we withdraw something you rely on we will say so before it goes rather than after.
3.Your account
Sign-in is through Google. You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with and for anybody you let into it. Tell us at support@aeoly.ai if you think someone has access who should not.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. The product is built for businesses and is not intended for children.
4.Sites you point it at
You confirm you are entitled to have the sites you add crawled, audited and published to. That means you own them, run them, or have permission from whoever does.
The free scan does not verify ownership before it runs, because asking for proof before showing anything would make it useless as a free tool. That check sits with you, and pointing the crawler at somebody else’s site is a breach of these terms even though nothing stops you technically.
The crawler reads pages and never writes to them, and it obeys robots.txt. What it does is documented, including how to refuse it.
5.What you must not do
- Crawl or audit a site you have no right to
- Use the product to generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes somebody else’s rights
- Resell, scrape or automate access to the product outside the interfaces we publish
- Work around rate limits, quotas or access controls, including on the free tools
- Attempt to reach another customer’s data
We can suspend an account doing any of this. For anything that threatens the service or a third party we will act first and explain afterwards.
6.Who owns what
Your content stays yours. The articles, briefs, keywords and reports in your projects belong to you, and publishing one gives us no claim over it. We do not use your content to train models of our own.
The product itself, including the software, the audit rules and everything on the marketing site, stays ours.
Our published research is free to quote with attribution. The crawler blocking survey says how.
7.Generated articles, and what that means
Articles are drafted by language models. They are checked before publishing, and they are still generated text.
You are the publisher. Anything published under your name is yours in law, whoever or whatever drafted it. Read what goes out, particularly anything making a claim about a product, a person, a price, or anything regulated. A model can state something false with complete confidence, and the cost of that lands on the site it was published to.
Nothing here is professional advice of any kind, and a generated article about a legal, medical or financial subject is not either.
8.What we do not promise
We cannot promise rankings, traffic, or that an AI assistant will cite you. Nobody can. Search engines and assistants decide that, they do not publish how, and they change it without notice. Anyone guaranteeing otherwise is selling something.
We also cannot promise that third parties will keep working as they do today. Google, Bing, WordPress and the model providers can change or withdraw their interfaces, and some of what the product does would stop with them.
The service is provided as it is. Beyond what the law where you live requires of us, we make no other warranty.
9.Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for lost profit, lost revenue, lost rankings or indirect loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10.Ending it
You can stop at any time and delete your account, which deletes the data attached to it as described in the privacy policy. Export anything you want to keep first.
We may end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms. Except where something urgent is happening we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it.
11.Law
A governing law and forum will be stated here. Until then, nothing in these terms chooses one, and any dispute would be decided by whichever law and court would apply anyway.
If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stands. If we do not enforce something immediately, we have not given it up.
Questions about any of this go to support@aeoly.ai.
